I have posted a link of a 70's oyster perpetual datejust rolex below.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MENS-ROLEX-O...item2c6850a3de I want to find a new rolex similar to the above image but can't find what model number to look for. I seem to keep going back to vintages although I know they make them like this new. Can someone give me model no's given the following specs: - 36mm, datejust, oyster bracelet - 36mm, oyster perptual (no date), oyster bracelet - 38mm, datejust, oyster bracelet - 38mm, oyster perpetual (no date), oyster bracelet I have noticed some of the newer models have more detail around the face perimeter which is not what want. I want plain battons. Thanks in advance David |

116200 Datejust (domed bezel, oyster and jubilee bracelet both available)
116234 Datejust (fluted bezel, oyster and jubilee bracelet both available) 116000 Oyster Perpetual No Date (domed bezel, oyster bracelet) 116034 Oyster Perpetual No Date (fluted bezel, oyster bracelet) Rolex doesn't carry 38mm models. However, there is the Datejust II in 41mm. |

I looked the 116200 & 116000 up on net and it seems the 116000 has numbers on dial not just battons? Also the 116200 has alternating date that turns red. Just to clairfy I looking for domed bezel.

If I understand your preference, I don't think the new ones will look like this. Well at least not that I've seen. The newer ticks are different, and I've noticed more of the newer ones have the roulette wheel pattern around the perimeter - also looks like railroad tracks.
edit: both the ticks for the numbers are different, and the little ticks around the perimeter are different (that I've seen). The older ones have plain, thin elegant looking ticks and the newer ones I've seen often have a luminescent top on them.

If you buy the watch from an AD, you can pick a dial and they will order a brand new watch for you.
The DJ has more dial options, especially if you're looking for batons only. The date doesn't hurt, the cyclops over the date screams ROLEX!! The 116000 can be fitted with one of these dials: ![]() And for the 116200, you can choose one of these dials: ![]() |

This is the main reason I found an older day-date: because I wanted the thinner, more elegant looking stick markers.
