Lately there is a lot of discussions about PVD coating on watches and some are Rolex, AP.

Has anyone got pictures of their PVD watch standing up to normal wear and tire? I understand PVD when scratched the base metal is seen through? Scratches are not easily polished out and the PDV coating has to be re-applied again.
On an expensive watch like Rolex and AP can the PVD coat be removed completely if you don't like the look anymore?

Seiko monster that was worn as my beater/work watch. Coated at motor city watch works. Outstanding job done by them. And I was very surprised how the coating held up. Very durable. I would deff look to them if I was to coat another watch.
Not a scratch on the case at all after 10 months of hard use. Sadly sold to find my SD.

I know that Stein jewelers does PVD coated Rolexes. I sort of fancy a Submariner in that, but...

Here is my beater, have used it for a couple of years with no issues or scratches. I've knocked it about some but it doesn't show.

As pleased as I am with this watch I wouldn't want to PVD to a Rolex. Also, I'm guessing it would be a very limited market if you wanted to flip it.

I'm on the fence with PVD watches.

My B&R was built like a brick but I still managed to get a scratch or two, visible in this pic.

The problem with PVD is that once scratched, you will see the metal underneath and there isn't a think you can do about it.

I saw a green Milgauss that had the pvd coating, the black against the green around crystal looked incredible.
