Single link..$350!
So I went in to my dealer to purchase a two tone yellow datejust m.o.p diamond dial jubilee for my dad for christmas and as we were getting it sized to fit, my father's wrists were too big and they had to add 2 links. I know its 18k gold but they needed $600 US for 2 links. Can anyone verify the price? I was told they are $100 each at most.

Man I know the price of single links is a killer especially if they are gold, but even stainless.
Sometimes if you are buying a watch new, the seller (AD) will throw in the extra link/s for free. If I was putting down a wad of cash on a new watch, I would at least want the extra link at cost. Good Luck |

Yup, they don't come cheap. I seem to remember a price of 300ish for a TT link.
I can look up the exact price when I get home from work.

Anyway, just checked my pricelist. Now, the TT DJ (Ref. 116233 - new style) has the bracelet ref. # 63203 (Jubilee bracelet, that is!). A single link for that bracelet costs US $ 115, and an additional 1 1/4 link costs US $ 140. A Rolex Day-Date ref. 118238 has the bracelet ref. # 83208 (President, concealed clasp). A single link for that bracelet costs US $ 440, and an additional 1 1/4 costs US $ 550.

Yes, in the process of purchasing a Rolex, normally the AD would include a link - IF NEEDED, that is! - at no extra charge.
When I tried on a Day-Date recently, it was a bit tight fitting, and my AD told me that he would be happy to add (and install) an extra link on it, for free. But if you want an extra link LATER, normally you would get charged.

It surprises me the cost of certain items on our watch. Based on a previous post of mine I inquired about the cost to replace a bezel on a 16610.
I was recommended to call the RSC in Beverly Hills and they quoted me $190 for the bezel and $60 for labor. Considering the machining involved I had expected $300-$400+. Go figure $120+ for stainless links and $300+ for TT. Precious metals are just that I guess. |

'Your Mileage May Vary'
An American (I think) web colloquialism.
