Rolex Wall Clocks

ebay.co.uk seems to be flooded with 'Rolex' wall clocks and I doubt any of them are real. Is there anyway to block report them?

I don't actually know if Rolex actually makes Rolex Wall clocks.. I'm guessing they're all just novelties. So I really don't think they're trying to fake anything. Though I'm sure there are many copyright and trademark infringements present, I don't think there is any real faking being done

Unless, of course, Rolex actually produces these clocks.

The point is about using the trademarks/symbols (the crown, "Rolex" etc).

I get that use of the trademark is controlled - but how are you determining that these clocks were not produced under license and are over-run or extra?

I understand calling out fake Rolex watches when the seller claims they are real. It's a great way for TRF'ers to help protect unsuspecting buyers. But these guys are selling clocks that nobody would confuse for a Rolex. They even state that in the listing.

That's exactly what i meant... Everyone knows you wouldn't put that on your wrist. This, like I said, is mainly a novelty. To be honest I wouldn't mind having one in my home private office. Though I'm sure these are produced in China or something of that nature, it is just a little reminder of the brand and the love for it.

Also, I like how someone called them terrible. I mean obviously no one would pay $10,000 for a measly wall clock. Lol

Well the real ones fetch 2000-4000. Rolex never made this style of clocks. They were very plain, there have been many threads about these, in one I uploaded photos of real Rolex wall clocks. They are plain not everyone knows a sub etc. they just say Rolex the hands are gold or silver and there is no second hand. Everyone must know the shop is ad and sells Rolex not just wis.

Rolex never made such a clock. What makes you think they are real? Just a guess or hunch doesn't make them genuine.

I have been in a hell of a lot Rolex AD's all over the world and have never seen one of these clocks in a store. There is usually one hanging outside the store on the front wall with the coronet and the green Rolex lettering and hands that actually tell the time. Very simple (more lile a Datejust without the date) and knowing Rolex they are probably on a lend-lease to control unauthorized selling of the clock. We all know how anal Rolex is about controlling all aspects of the use of their logo, etc.

I would call these clocks a novelty, much like the Coke, Pepsi, and beer clocks and signs you see in gift or novelty stores. However, I doubt very much they are authorized by Rolex or there are any royalties being paid to Rolex for use of their logo and designs which in my book means they are unathorized and therefore, counterfeit.

I haven't seen the ad but people might think these are real Rolex products, which they are not.

these fake clocks are on ebay.com for a very long time and I know people who have been paying 1000 bucks for such a thing assuming that these are real.

And I am sure that in the UK it will be the same case - people paying big money assuming that these are real.

So the 100% no tolerance for fake applies to wall clocks to the same amount like for wristwatches.

Maybe it's just me. I used to collect model cars. Obviously model cars are small in scale and aren't made by the real manufactures. That's what I was getting at here. There more like huge scale model watch dials for walls which hold no absolute real value or even that Rolex made them. If I saw one of those on someone's wall I'd immediately know Rolex didn't make that.... Just like the small scale model cars I collected. Some of which I still proudly own. My goodness!!!

The example of model cars in fact supports the issue with all the famous brands. Wouldn't want to buy a model car thinking its a minichamps/autoart/etc when it isn't...

Unless they have permission from Rolex to manufacture these clocks, they are counterfeit, plain and simple. Model car manufacturers and the like must be granted permission to reproduce another companies likeness in a product. It's in licensing agreements. It is also illegal to manufacture something with trademark infringements, regardless of how silly it may seem.

When you read the listings, each says that Rolex did not make these wall clocks. There is no way a buyer would assume Rolex made any of these clocks.

My question was simply whether this forum is going to try and "call out" every Rolex trademark violation...

What's next? Fake Rolex golf balls, hats, shirts?

Just asking...

We look at whatever people have the knowledge on (boxes, pens, shirts, etc). Yes we should try and call out every scammer with fake stuff so that innocent people don't get taken for a ride.
