Good Day To You Sir!

Hello there!

My name's Andy, a Brit from Cumbria! I don't know much about Rolex's but I inherited a Submariner from my Grandad so I thought I'd have a look on here to see if I could sell it .

Looking forward to getting to know you guys and the whole Rolex community!

Hello again!

Never had such a warm welcome on a forum before, thanks for all the replies, you guys are awesome! :D

As much as I know, it's a Rolex Submariner 16610 T 2007 going by the serial number on the side.

So the story behind the watch is that my Grandad bought it back in 2007 but he changed the strap because it irritated his skin. In 2010, his house caught fire and he pretty much lost everything (including the booklets, wrist strap and box for the watch). He died in September and he gave me his watch. However for me, it's very impractical as I work a lot with engines and outdoor work. I don't know if this will sell but if you guys could help me, that would be might decent of you!

Thanks for getting in touch! :)

Andy

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! I really really appreciate it! The watch is a Rolex Submariner 16610 T 2007.

So the story behind the watch is that my Grandad bought it back in 2007 (I assume). He took the strap off because it irritated him and put the one it has on now. Unfortunately, in 2010 his house caught fire and pretty much everything was lost, including all the documents and the box for the watch. He died in September just gone and gave me his watch. For me however, it's pretty impractical as I work with engines and outdoor jobs. I'm 24 and I would much rather buy a car or a new bike to support me with my work so I could do with some advice from you guys to help me sell it!

Also, I should say that I had it checked by a staff member of H.Samuel who used to have a job with Rolex and she verified it for me. I know that's way not enough to say it's genuine etc so I have posted pics with the serial on the sides and such. Any more questions let me know!

Andy

Hi Andy. You have to change permissions on the gallery on imjur. It won't let us see.

Welcome to TRF!

Andy, if you want to sell a watch you'll want to become a 2013 Pledge member - see the link below
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=279559

Then you'll need to meet the requirements set forth in the rules for listing in the Classifieds:
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=9423

Lugs are the long bits that the bracelet is fitted between. If you remove the bracelet you will see a number engraved on the case "between the lugs"...Welcome to TRF!

I recommend that you contact Watchfinder or the like and have them sell it for you on commision.

It will cost you around 15% but they will verify it as genuine and offer their own warranty.

You might have job and a half trying to sell it privately, at least on here where skeptics abound.
