His and Hers Chevrolet Rolex

Hi All !

I always enjoy looking at all of the photos here. I especially like the unusual models. I thought I'd snap a shot of our Chevrolet Datejusts. These were given to qualifying Chevrolet dealers in 1987 as part of their Golden Jubilee Celebration. As a car nut, they are perfect for me. Thought you all might like to see them. I love the "Bowties" on the dial. Happy New Year to all.

Nice watches, can you take a picture of one of them at an angle? From this photo it looks like the dials were printed on.

That is really interesting. The dials have a real nice texture to them.

I know about the Dominos Pizza AK's, and now these Chevy DJ's. Any other specialties out there?

I'm always looking for information on these watches. I never have really found out how many sets were awarded. I have the list of every dealer in this region that got them, but I don't have the national number. They were given out in at the Westin Hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio at a huge dealer award ceremony. ( For this region, anyway. ) They came with unique paperwork and Chevrolet medallions on the boxes as well. Here's the original invitation to the event.

I have not seen an Oldsmobile version, but I have seen a Buick award watch from around the same time period.

Some Buick Motor Division long service employees received Longines with engraved casebacks. Here's one I added to my collection recently. The caseback reads:

Presented To
xxxxxxxxxxxxx
by
Buick Motor Division
In Appreciation Of
25 Years Service
1953 - 1879 (I think)

It's in for an overhaul right now. I think the presentation date reads 1978, but not sure.
