GMT II or Submariner?

Everyone Hope you can help me out here. Do you prefer the GMT II or Sub? BTW, how about the newer GMT II comparing to the older model? I was thinking about the following, but undecided right now:

1. Submariner date with black bezel
2. Submariner BLUE bezel/face
3. GMT II stainless (older/newer style)
4. GMT II two-tone (older/newer style)

Looking to get at least one soon. The second in March, my BDay For some reason, I'm more attached to the newer GMT II two-tone more nowdays. A little big on my wrist, but it's a mean looking watch. Help me out...thanks, ~Hien

I've long liked the GMT series, but didn't care for the small crown. I think the latest incarnation has the larger crown? A great all-around watch with a proven movt. imho.

I love both, but the new GMT just sang to me when it was time to buy. I will for sure have a Submariner in the not-too-distant future. You can't go wrong either way, IMO.

Likely to have changes to the Sub this spring and those changes are generally thought to be for the better.
The GMT-IIC already has those changes. Yes, the new GMT-IIC has the triple lock (big) crown from the Sub now.

If you can't wait to see what shakes out on the Sub, buy a GMT-IIC. It's a more flexible watch anyway.
TT if you think you might wear it in dressy situations. Go SS if it's a pure casual wear watch.

I am 100% with this. The following would be my choice now.

First GMT IIc
Second GMT II with black/red bezel
Last Sub

I skip out TT GMT II all together because I don't like gold on sport watch. As you know, it is very hard to take care of gold for normal usage.

I would go with the GMT II SS.

I would go with the ss gmt II non ceramic. I am not a big fan of some of the updates on the new gmt (center links, bigger numbers of bezel). If you love the sub, wait untill basel to see what might happen, like me.

The only objection to the GMTIIc that I am aware of is some objection to the shininess of the polished center links, larger white-gold hands and indices and the shininess of the bezel, as compared to the old aluminum bezels.

In my opinion, the watch is tasteful and less flashy than the big 45 mm Panerais and Omegas that seem to be.

I was looking at the Sub, but I ended up getting this instead after evaluating the comparative merits and the significant improvements that have been made to this watch.

A lot of purists object to the lack of the red and blue bezel, which is traditional for the watch. I like the look of the black ceramic bezel. I think it wears better with a suit than the red/blue would.

For me TT Blue Sub is most beautiful Rolex by far.And GMT Pepsi folows it.

I'd go for the SS GMT IIc due to the updates (better bracelet/clasp and new movement). Also, it looks very much like a Sub Date.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but on the same note I am thinking of a Rolesor GMT II or Daytona with black face. I have a SS Sub so am a little worried with the GMT it might be too similar. I tried on a GMT today and almost bought it on the spot. That new bezel is awesome. Do you think the difference in the sub and the 2 tone GMT would be enough or would I just have 2 of the same watch? I have a TAG SS link chrono, the Sub SS, Gold B-1 and a PAM 112. I need a 2 tone! Thanks for any input.

If you really like tt, I think go for Daytona tt white face. Such a beautiful watch. Just my opinion, Mate.

All watches mentioned are great. I think it boils down to whether you like the updated supercase, maxi dial, solid bracelet with polished center links, etc, or not. Then I would choose based on the functionality of each watch. Good luck.
