What is this etching on the side of this 18k gold submariner?

It looks like some 8-bit bar code or something, is this on all gold submariners? What is this lol?

I removed mine yesterday. I almost did not see the plastic sticker as it is very well trimmed for the shape.

It is the equivalent of x-out on a golf ball. It means there was an error at the factory and thus the value is significantly lower.
