Planet Ocean 45.5

Hello All,

I'm wondering if anyone has a 6.75" wrist (give or take) and wears a PO 45.5. I tried on a 42mm but it was pretty small. Fit more like a 40mm. If anyone does, please post some pics and let me know how it feels. Comments are welcome by all. Thanks in advance.

Really depends on the shape of your wrist. I wear one on a 7 inch wrist with no problem. It is big for sure but now when I put on my 41.5 AT it seems unusually small!

I have a 6.75 wrist and used to have a 44.5mm PO.

I only wore it on a rubber strap and it looked great. Obviously it's a big watch but my view is oversized sports watches are designed to look big, they are not just for the more portly wrist.

Eventually I turned it into a Sub because I wanted more versatility. I wanted something I could wear on a bracelet and in a suit and the PO was too big for that. If I'd had a 42mm one, I think I'd still have it. I think they are brilliant watches and they best looking divers on the market.

Can't find my pics at the moment, but I have a 6.75" wrist and think the 45.5 is the only way to go. I agree that the 42 wears smaller than it's dimensions.

To me the 42mm is the better one proportion wise but also in the way it sits on the wrist. I wear PAMs but the 45.4 is a terrible wear IMO and topples badly. 42 is the pick I think

I have a 7.5 wrist and wear the 45.5. I went through a phase where I thought maybe it was a mistake and tried on the 42. I hated it. 45.5 was the way to go.

But for you, 42 might be the right call.

i have the 45.5 PO , and it fits nice - however I agree the big watch trend is fading. I wear my PO on a deployment and leather band so its comfortable -with a bracelet it would be too heavy.
when compared to my sub ,the sub wins hands down for comfort. I would get the 42mm if I were you.

The PO XL is a very big watch, regardless of your wrist size. If you want to have a cool, big watch in your rotation, it's great! I don't generally like big watches, but the PO XL is special. It's the only watch above 42mm that interests me. For me it could never replace my Sub though.

I think my wrist is 6.5". But I wear the 45.5 PO Ti. Version. Very good looking. The titanium takes care of its weight.

I must stress that I also have a Sub for rotation.

Regardless of 42mm or 45.5mm, they are at 16.5 mm thick. So instead of choosing smaller diameter with such a thick watch. I think the larger diameter has a better proportion.

Thanks. I'm leaning towards the 42 as I'm not crazy about big heavy watches. In the past I've traded almost all of them.

I find that whenever I wear a watch that's big or heavy, or both, I only wear it for a couple of days max. Whereas if I'm wearing a sub, I could wear it for days or weeks without any issues and that's what I prefer. I like to look at my collection and be able to pick any watch and wear it for days no problem.

I think the 45.5 is like the DSSD - the vast majority of people who think they can pull it off can't. Nothing worse than seeing lugs hanging over skinny wrists. I was on holiday a few years ago & saw a guy with a DSSD - it was like a hockey puck attached to his wrist.

All down to personal opinion at the end of the day with the most important one being your own of course !!

I wear the 45mm version...Have it on now.

I want my sport watches to have presence, and
a 45mm watch does that very well. Better, in my experience,
Than a Rolex 40mm Sub or even the 42mm PO.

Does anyone know which size Planet Ocean is the better seller?

I had the XL and it fit my 7 3/8 flat wrist well. It's a great piece, but unfortunately it's tiresome to wear on the bracelet. Ultimately mine left and was replaced by a 16610. Maybe the 42 would have worked better for me.

42mm is a real keeper. Ended up picking it up on Monday. Great piece.

like others have said if your wrist is flat and wide then no issues. at the end of the day its never really the dial size of the watch its the length from lug to lug. as long as there is no hang over it looks ok IMO
