Code Yellow Black steel
Opps... i did it... just bought a non-Rolex watch... I've had Breitlings in the past and liked them ... switched to a sub guy and now got myself this... kind of impulsively as far as my purchases go. Its enormous and taking some getting used to but I really dig the black steel. Still, my Sub-centric self is telling me maybe i should just sell it
Took it to the beach today and it was nice having a watch thought that felt as rugged as the terrain I was on. Granted... its probably not as tough as a sub but sure looks mean as hell. What do yall think?

Thanks all! Yeah it's very different than my subs but I'm liking it a lot at so far! Anyone know exactly how the DLC process differs from PVD?

DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) is more of a chemical process which allows some of the color to actually penetrate the steel. PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) is more of an applied substance to the top layer of the steel. DLC coating is by far more durable than PVD.

Thanks for that cool info om DLC vs PVD!! Very cool indeed. I've banged the watch into some stuff that would have definitely rendered my subs scratched... yet this watch remains looking like it was untouched... pretty amazing stuff! My wrist is pretty small maybe between 6-6.25" so i was hesitant to wear a 45 mm watch... nonetheless I think its growing on me and is definitely a comfortable watch for its size. The model number is M17330... its an Avenger Seawolf but a special edition black steel short run (1 of 1000 pieces) called the "Code Yellow" discernible by the yellow second hand. There are other black steel special editions but with different colors (red, orange). Yellow looks best to me and also happens to be Breitling's "color" like green is to Rolex. There are still a few Code Yellows around in some stores and on ebay... definitely a fun watch to own. Highly recommend it if your considering.

Picture doesn't do the black steel justice, you have to see in person to really appreciate it.

I wouldn't sell anything yellow on a Breitling, I have a seawolf yellow dial, just like orange on an Omega, have a PO, as they are the signature colours of each brand along with maybe green on a Rolex.
