Not Quite Vintage, and Not Quite Modern.......

Most members know that I like a modified Rolex watch ESPECIALLY if it is reversible back to factory specs with little trouble. Here is one that I have been wearing of late. It is a 16610 with a 16613 bezel insert and a 16800 dial. Of course I have the 93150, bezel insert, and original dial. I really like the way this one wears right now. If it only had a plastic crystal..........

The watch looks great…

I am a huge fan of the so-called "Transitional" models (16800, 16660)…And even if this is a bit "different" I still love the look…

Question: Why did you put the 16800 dial on the 16610…Why not just keep it with the 16800 case???

Did you just happen to have the dial hanging around???

Jason I agree the watch is very cool. If you get tired of the nylon NATO, consider trying a light brown leather NATO.

Good question. I acquired this watch from a friend and he had done the modification when he owned it. I swapped out the bezel insert recently to the 16613, but not the dial swap.

When I bought it, he included the original 16610 dial (tritium) just in case I ever want to go back to original factory spec. I probably never will. He told me he sourced the 16800 dial from a reputable seller on VRF.

Looks sharp.

Kinda reminds me of the blue insert 1680's that were done some years back.

Great watch. I too love the look though mine is a 16800. I put the same insert in mine and added a 93250. These are great combos.

It is all your fault. I know your watch, and I know it well. It is because of your dang pictures that I went on a hunt to get the same look. Thanks alot!!

Well I won't say sorry. :)

The plastic crystal route looks good too but the sapphire ones look better IMO.

Jason and John,
Those are really great looking watches. The blue/black combo is killer. One of my all time favorite mods.

One of the "regulars" here had replaced his 16613 insert with a new one from RSC. I sent him a PM asking what he was going to do with the old one....the rest is history

I sourced mine from eBay. It can be a hunt to find a good condition older silver/blue one but they exist. It took me 3 before I had one I was happy with.
