Will AD service my "preowned" Rolex???

I bought a TT GMT Master IIc, two days ago. I bought online through what this forum considers a reputable dealer/online jeweler. Though not a AD.

The watch does not have papers, just box and literature.
My questions is.........will my local AD service if I do not have papers and I guess ultimately, I am not the "registered" owner.

Any info for a newbie is appreciated.

Thanks.

Any AD or RSC should service and work on your watch..

The only thing you do not get is the Rolex Factory 2 year warranty..

There is not really any "registered" Rolex owner

How come the papers are missing when you do have the box and other accessories?

Good question. I am sorry to say the price was somewhat cheaper (few hundred) with the non papered watch.

I went for a 9.5 compared to a 9.0 with papers. I figured I will always have this watch as it is my first.

Possible newbie mistake????

It is never a mistake to buy a Rolex...either with or without "paper"

There is much talk of "papers", but the only extra thing you get at an AD is a single sheet of paper that says "warranty" on it, or more recently the "card".

You almost never get this paper on a resell at an AD or Grey Dealer since it is in somebody elses name.. You may get it from an original owner..

You frequently do get "paper" from a Grey Dealer for BNIB, and it is frequently blank to fill in your own name..

As Larry said, servicing the watch is not as issue. Should you have the watch serviced by an RSC at some point in the future service papers and warranty will be provided.

They are a business and I think would be loathe to turn down good retail work.

Larry, Will you consider to buy a rolex watch if the back of the card was stamp in Hong Kong,,are they consider grey market too but 100% genuine Rolex

Let me give you the long answer and set some terms..

A Grey Dealer is a dealer who sells authentic BNIB Rolex watches..... They get their merchandise from AD's who wholesale excess inventory, or wholesale slow moving pieces, or in the case of Asia (Hong Kong), pieces that do not move because of their serial numbers. (some numbers are considered "lucky" and some "unlucky") etc.

Much of E-bay, scammers, and Dealers selling pre-owned are not Grey Market.

If I were to buy from a reputable Grey Dealer, and there are several, and the watch came from Hong Kong as stamped on the warranty paper; I would not have any concerns about the authenticity, or the build quality of the Rolex watch as long as the numbers matched.

My Daytona came from a grey dealer and they purchased the watch from an AD in Mexico. All was well with the watch and the deal.
