A sad story re. a dive......

My very good friend and dive buddy received a surprise dive watch in the mail from his father soon after his dad died.
I wore my 5513 and he his new watch. We were at about 60 feet enjoying the dive when he tapped me on the shoulder and motioned me to look at his watch. I nodded and went on. He grabbed me and pointed to his watch.
I looked closely and saw it was full of water. He unstrapped it and we watched as it slowly sank away.

Why did he unstrap it? Just leave it on! Have it serviced maybe replace the dial.

I don't think it was a Rolex.

If my dad's last act would be to send me a watch, I don't think I would throw it away just like that.

No, it was not a Rolex nor an expensive watch. Just a mail order cheapie I think.
