Took my wife's watch in for repair today and got chatting about watches in general and they bought this watch through to show me (sorry didn't take any pics), uk price tag on it was £7500.
The box it comes in is huge! Bigger than my Rolex and Tudor boxes put together! Thought the watch itself looked fantastic. I have noted a significant number of posts on this forum where it is stated 'my wife would kill me!' , hence I just left with the receipt for the repair! |

It is a beautiful watch and it will be interesting to see how it sells.
At $12K it is well above the traditional and regular price of Speedys. Ceramic is not such a popular material compared to say gold which carries a high price tag. I personally like ceramic, but this is a watch will will be keen to observe over the next 2 years to see how its resale goes.

I've had my Dark Side of the Moon for a few months now and it's a beauty. It gets noticed even when it just about peaks out from under a shirt cuff, in fact I don't think I've had as many questions about any of my other watches.
It is a pricey piece for sure but to go with that, I have to say it is a very special Speedmaster. Even if you forget about the Omega name and the limited (or planned) availability there aren't too many watches out there that have a full ceramic case, pushers and buckle. It was love at first sight for me with my only point of concern being the the strap. But having owned and worn the watch fairly regularly over the last few months, I can confirm that it is a hugely comfortable watch to wear on a daily basis. Max |
