Not Another SDc Post...
I don't recall any of the reviews talking about the thickness/height of the new SDc. While looking at a profile shot of the SDc it occurred to me ratios might be a good way to get an approximate height.
The 114060 case length from lug tip to lug tip is about 47mm and caseback to top of crystal is 12mm. 47/12=3.92 The SDc case length (measured on my computer screen) is 63mm and caseback to top of crystal is 20mm. 63/20=3.15 Difference between 114060 and SDc = 3.92/3.15 = 1.244444 So...(47/12)=(47/x)(1.24444) and we solve for x Assumption here is that since the SDc is "40mm" the lug tip to lug tip is the same as the 114060. x=12(1.244444) therefore.... The SDc thickness should be about 14.9mm. Half way between the SubC thickness of 12mm and the DSSD thickness of 18mm. I think I have too much free time on my hands! |

I'd say it's slightly thicker than 14.9. My 16600 is about 14.8 and the glass on the 116600 is slightly thicker as well as the case (relative to the helium escape valve assuming they are the same size). My guess is somewhere between 15.75-16.25mm.
