I've always wanted one but a 39mm chrono is just too small, esp when the subc wears now at 42mm, so I would only get one in gold for the extra heft needed.

The Daytona
Quote:
The maddening thing at RR is someone else can inadvertently boost your apparent reading. Many turn their exhaust 90° to drivers right side of car (away from the Sound meter on DL). So then they are on full accel coming through Turn 3 and their exhaust is pointed directly towards meter. Granted it's several hundred feet away, but their sound pressure is additive to yours if you come down front straight at same time as their waves are hitting. Sound Control knows to ignore readings when you + another guy are nose to tail or side by side. But they can't calibrate for the guy who is coming through Turn 3. Have helped guys in test days make the sound level just to be stung in qually or race when there are dozens on track with them. Good luck at the event!

Could you imagine looking at a guy who just won a SS Daytona and be all " pffft, the one I won is gold". |

Some one here said the modern Daytona at 40mm is too small. I still long for the old
36/37mm vintage Daytonas |

Yeah, I don't get the whole Daytona being too small thing. It's 40MM just like a Sub, GMT, etc. My wrist is 7.75" and I think it looks perfectly normal. If it looks normal on my wrist I can't help but think it looks perfectly fine on a smaller wrist. I also don't believe it needs a date like so many complain about. I sign TONS of paperwork in my business and its not that hard to remember the day. Seriously, its not that hard. I'm the first to admit I know nothing so .............that's my 2cents for the day.

I saw that. You looked like you did well in Qually based on that grid position.
