Need a crystal to fit a Tudor Oyster Prince Date Day
I need to replace the plastic crystal on my Tudor Oyster Prince Date Day, case #76200, serial #H292716. I bought the watch online three years ago from Bernard Watch in Austin, TX. The Tudor certificate that came with the watch indicates that it was purchased new from an Rolex/Tudor AD (I looked them up) in Australia in 2001.
I will be replacing the crystal myself this time -- something I've done before -- since I had the crystal replaced and full service done less than 18 months ago. I'm having trouble finding the correct crystal. The case diameter measured between the lugs with the band removed is 34.3mm . The inner diameter of the "ring" that the crystal press fits over is 30.5mm. Based on those dimensions, and the similar appearance of the Rolex 1500, I ordered a “ROL-CYCLOPE-117” generic crystal from Otto Frei... close, but the interior diameter is a little too small to press fit onto the case. I wrote to Otto Frei for guidance, but they "have no listing on case number 76200 for the Tudor Oyster Prince Date Day Watch." I recall that the jeweler who serviced my watch the last time (who is no longer in business) said that he had to send the case to Rolex/Tudor to get the correct crystal. And I think the service slip (which I no longer have) might have said something about a "tropic" crystal -- but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance for any guidance anyone can offer. Here's a photo of a watch that looks identical to mine I found searching Google images for tudor oyster date day 76200 |
