116520 (black) vs 116600

Okay,

So these pieces are very different... But which do you prefer and why. Owners don't be shy and share some pics!!!!

116520 black dial of course.

SD is too thick for me, I would never use the extra functionality (increased depth rating) that makes it command the premium over the SubC.

I LOVE my Daytona. I've worn it daily for 6 months, and it still looks mint. It also fits perfectly under the cuffs on my dress shirt, and really good still with shorts. I've thought a couple of times of buying another watch, but it'd be hard for me to take off my Daytona.

Not a black dial, but you get the idea. Both dials are amazing.

SD. You have a date and better legibility.

Daytona for me.

Not really digging the raised crystal on the SD

The Daytona is a significantly smaller timepiece. I also have a Sub C and the Sub C has a stronger wrist presence and the difference in weight is notable.

If you want a watch that looks good and is very comfortable, the Daytona is the way to go. If you want an absolute beast, go the SD. I don't like the SD as my Sub C is already big enough.

Wow two different watches! If you have any diver type watch then the Daytona
If you don't have any diver type watches then still the Daytona

Both great watches and I have a Daytona and a DSSD and a few subs

If only one the Daytona is the all round winner for me

Here is a pic to get you in the mood

Both watches are great, but if you don't have either, I'd start with the Daytona. It's a classic!

I've worn my Daytona just about everyday since I got it a few weeks ago. Still can't stop looking at it. The DSSD is great as well, but man is it big.

Be that as it may, the OP is asking about the SDc (116600).

As for the original question, as an all-rounder, the 116600 takes the cake: brushed finish, date, no cyclops, great lume and bezel action.

116520. No contest here. If I wanted a diver, I would buy the Submariner.

I had to decide between these and while the Daytona is nice, every little scratch on the bezel shows and it becomes annoying.....so I played it safe and went with the 116600. I prefer the extra legibility, classic simple look and extra robustness that comes with a dive watch.

Depends on your build and wrist size, Daytona looks small for a sport watch (on me) while the SD looks right, DSSD even better.

I have both. The Daytona will always be my all-time favourite but for now I'm really loving the size and the beauty of SDc. Been my daily wearer with the Daytona coming out occasionally.

I am a huge fan of the new SDc. Much better look than the Subs give the smaller lugs and the thickness helps it sit off the wrist a bit for added comfort. With the price difference you could pick up a second hand Speedy and have all the bases covered. Easy choice if I were in your shoes with the SDc being the winner.

Daytona and a Sub 114060. Not a fan of the new Sea Dweller. I prefer the 16600 made before the Sea Dweller was "discontinued".

I didn't vote because there wasn't an option for both

116600 for me. Love the new SDC, and wears bigger than the Daytona.

I prefer the look of dive watches, although the Daytona is a great looking watch. The ceramic bezel, all brushed bracelet and glidelock are just a few things of many that win it for me.
