PP 5167A vs. AP 15202

Currently struggling deciding between the Aquanaut 5167A on rubber and the Royal Oak 40th Anniversary blue dial 15202. All input, suggestions, personal preferences, etc. is appreciated!

I am looking for a watch that can be worn everyday, is comfortable, dress up/down, and will retain its value well.

The only other watch I currently own is Rolex Milgauss GV. Thanks in advance!

I think they are both very complimentary and can both be worn for all of the above
No wrong answer.

The Patek had better water resistance.

Do you want a sport(ier) watch or a dress(ier) watch? The answer will tell you which one...

5167A is the answer to your dilemma. 15202 is beautiful but beheaves more like a dress watch. I am surprised to learn what George post here regarding the accuracy of the 15202 , I thought the accuracy issues where more related to the 3120 movement. Didn't know of any issues related to the 2121 movement

Between the two 15202 for me, 5167R would be a much tougher decision.

No issues with accuracy with my 15202, definitely close to if not within COSC specs for mine.

Thanks for the link, but the general consensus in that thread was that it wasn't as a accurate as a Rolex. But 20 secs that's too much... I don't think it's that bad. Or did you experienced that when you had it. ?
I seen countless threads about the 3120 but this is the first one I see about the 2121. That jaeger based movement thought it was a good one.

Ah ok; and yes that's me. Horrible username but at the time of joining, I didn't know anything out of those 3 brands (Rolex, Omega and Tag). Retrospectively it would of been cheaper to remain ignorant. "Ignorance is a bliss " more times than I want a admit.

I own a 5167 but it's the bastard son of the iconic Gerald Genta designed original Nautilus and Royal Oak. On that basis go with the closest to the original, and that's the 15202.

Both are versatile and can be dressed up/down. The 5167 will retain its value better than the 15202. Based on looks, I much prefer the 15202.

15202. The 5167 has no horological significance at all, other than being a Patek. The 15202 is one of the most horologically significant watches ever (well, I guess the original is).

If you want a Patek I'd go with a 5711.

Would you consider the 5711 dress(ier) too? I'm just trying to get a sense of how people think of the 15202. I always viewed the 15202 in the same light as the 5711.

PP 5167A vs. AP 15202

From less dressy to dressier

Aquanaut > 15202 > 5711

I think the delicate bracelet of the Nautilus and the sturdier bracelet of the Royal Oak make the difference.

This^

The Nautilus is dressier while the Jumbo is sportier.

I love both, but in this case hard to say, I may have a preference for the Jumbo, in any case none of these are real sport watches, more like sporty dress watches to wear everyday IMO, I think I would take the Jumbo, but since you already have 1 on bracelet one on rubber strap might be cool. Let us know what you decide.

Since you are asking for a watch that can be robust enough to be worn daily, it will be the 5167 in this case that is more suitable even though I think the 15202 is far more beautiful, historic and iconic.
