ABC Watchwerks in Los Angeles
Looking to get my 6265 Daytona serviced. Has anyone had experience with these folks? Very weary of leaving my watch behind, especially this one. What should I do to protect myself? (appraisal, proof of service..etc)
Any help is appreciated. |

No worries dealing with them. They do EXPERT work and are nothing short of professional. They have serviced 3 or 4 of my watches......both vintage and modern. Send your watch with confidence, but just make sure it is insured on the way to them. Talk to Edvi to discuss the best shipment / insurance method.

Agree, did a great jon refinishing a poorly refinished submariner by a local jeweler. Edvi is great, easy to get a hold of. Bo (sp?) is the master of refinishing.

Go directly to the source; use the Rolex Service Center.
Call them at (212) 758-7700 or stop in Tuesday morning after 9AM. (They are closed Monday due to Columbus Day). They are open 9AM until 5PM Mon. thru Fridays. Entrance is on the 53rd Street side of the Rolex building just off 5th Avenue. |

Since this question is about a vintage watch I moved it to the vintage section.

Not for vintage. Recent, yes. But not necessarily on a classic. Unless you folks decide to break the vault open on the really old spare parts.

Here are my most recent experiences with ABC: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthrea...abc+watchwerks

They've done all 3 of these. When I'm in LA I drop it off, they mail it to me when done. I would never use RSC, same reason I use independents for my BMW and Harley's more personal service, no BS..

Trusted for repair and restoration. Well respected amongst the group here on TRF and VRF.

Good call. Just sent my 1675 to them today. I think they get more time with my watches than I do.

I wouldn't bring my Vintage watch to RSC if it was free. #1: If it's older than 25 years they probably wont work on it #2: they will charge you 300% more than anywhere else to do work #3: If they decide to change any parts you wont get the originals back and their response will be: "too bad, we changed them now pay us." #4: they will take weeks or months to repair it, rather than a few days #5: They know less about Vintage than shops that specialize in Vintage |
