Faded ceramic!!!

I love the LN, but have grown tired of the tone/luster in the ceramic black.

Happened across this photo and it is what I am searching for. Now I know that in this case it is just the lighting making it appear faded, but never the less, it looks terrific.

So my friends, how do you suppose one could go about effecting their bezel insert to end up with this type of result?
No heresy here since this is not a rare or a vintage watch.

This. It does it with my SD also, almost gives it a vintage look.

Simple, carry a flashlight in your other hand and constantly adjust the beam for desired effect.

Lol! That truly might be the only way to achieve this look.

I would just buy a vintage and call it a day!

Or remove your bezel with a cheese knife and soak it in hcl for 2 fortnights

I bet that if you polished it with a fine grit sandpaper it would provide the desired effect

Funny you want the bezel to do the very thing it was designed not to do

Maybe ya could ask them to make the ceramic bezel scratch easy too

Be satisfied that the black bezel takes on a different character with the changes in lighting.

My BLNR is black and blue or all black or some shades in between and it's an effect that I like.

I like that the bezel on my 114060 does this.

With as bind as their QC department has been lately, this could be entirely possible.

I think you're right. The problem is that taking the insert out is unfortunately not as straight forward as it is in the aluminum. But taking the bezel off and leaving the insert in place is a reasonable option.
Truly, I'm going to try to shake this latest craving… but it doesn't look like it's going away. Being a faded-insert enthusiast doesn't help. Had I not stumbled across the original photo I probably would have never thought of it…lol.

I will of course post pics if I do it and have a disclaimer at the beginning stating that this may not be suitable for sensitive eyes.
This weekend I hope the dremel tool doesn't some how end up in the vicinity of the 21yo Highland Park, for then my friends, it's a done deal.
