Date change problem
Plz excuse if this issue has been addressed before. My 4 month old rolex submariner 116610LN changes date precisely at 22.30. is there any thing i could do to adjust it or shall I send it to RSC?

.
A watchmaker (at RSC) will reposition the hands for you. That's it. |

thanks Alpino for your quick answer. Do you think its a trivial problem that I can get it right when I will have my watch serviced after 3 years or shall I take care of it now. asking because RSC is very far from where I live, I am not sure I sending by mail is a good option.

Every AD have a certified Rolex watchmaker that can do the job, no specific need to go RSC. This is more a quality control issue than a technical one, so there's no hurry to correct it. You have to know how important it is for you. |

How trivial it is depends on you...I personally would get that fixed, but that's me.

I wouldn't get it fixed. I don't get hung up on things like that. Once it's service time they'll pick everything apart anyway.

If it were me I would go nuts knowing the date changes at 22:30
As it is my Exp II's date changes at 23:55 It's a minor adjustment and I would get it taken care of

It is entirely dependent on where the last watchmaker who touched the watch put the hands on. As mentioned, that is the "fix", to take the watch movement out, take the hands off and re-position them. Personally, I have over a dozen Rolex watches and don't know precisely when any of them change the date. I can't imagine it ever being an issue to me..

I think it's more odd than not. I've never had one that didn't change right at 12:00 or so close it didn't matter. Maybe I haven't had enough watches yet. It would bug me I think.

My watch doesn't change date exactly at midnight (nor do I expect it to), but within a couple of minutes of, give or take.
Changing date at 2230 would definitely bug me, especially if the watch is 4 months old. I'd be invoking the warranty and getting it rectified. |

On all the Rolex date models, the date should change over between 1 1/2 min before 12 AM and 2 min after 12 AM

Maybe this is the case in France, but it's NOT in the USA

1 hour & 30 minutes before midnight is excessive and unacceptable, there is enough time remaining in the day where the misinfomation could cause confusion. Within 5 minutes of midnight is a fair margin of error imho .
I would have it sorted at an AD under warranty asap.

My new Hulk flips over at 6 minutes past midnight which is acceptable to me. IF, it were at 10:30pm a full 90 minutes before midnight I would send that baby in to be fixed. JMO
