Form vs. Function? Why Not Both? Incoming from TimeToGo!
Some of you may no that I am not a purist at heart, as evidenced by what I did to a perfectly good 14060 and EXP II. BUT, that doesn't mean that I'm a total depraved heart heathen..... Not much in the modern Rolex line excites me much these days, so I am refocusing my direction somewhat.
I have a GMT II Coke that my wife gave me for our fifth wedding anniversary in 1993. It was my second Rolex. It has a tritium dial who's glow is fading fast. And I love lume, but would never consider changing THAT dial to Luminova in a dial swap with an AD or RSC. I also have a 1680 white that I bought from Jacek. It has a Luminova service dial/hands. It is a great daily wear, but at some point, it might be nice to bring back to closer to original state. So what to do?????

Problem solved! I'll source some hands soon. As always, Norman included a nice extra, in this case the Rolex tin. Another great transaction!

I'm just guessing but I think form for most people here, not sure why but that would be my analysis of the vast majority here.

As I said, the current modern line up doesn't much appeal to me, as it does most here. So this is just a new channel for me.

Nice. Will you be doing the work yourself? Watchmaking as a hobby is quite rewarding and has helped me stay interested in this hobby beyond just collecting.

Those are two great watches and two nice dials.

I'm all for it! I have a 5513 with service dial and hands, and it's a great combo of form and function. So is that 1680 dial NOS?

Thanks, guys!
Mike, I'd like to learn to do a little light-weight watch work like dial, hands, bezel changes. I've seen the great tutorials here on bezel changes, but haven't had the cojones to do it yet..... Adam, it looks to me like NOS. I'll have to ask Norman. Funny that you should mention your 5513 with Luminova service dial. I've been wearing mine the last week or so:
