I just got a 1991 14060 and it has absolutely NO patina at all.

I'm guessing because the original owner wore it almost everyday, so the hands/markers were exposed to a lot of sunlight vs sitting in a safe.

I am hoping that mine gets that sweet "creamy" color some day :)

My friend has a 16610 from 1989. My 14060M is from 2004, when we compare them directly you CAN notice a bit of patina but it's not extremely evident. If you had a more modern one to compare it to I bet you would see some fading! It will take longer to get the patina above.. but I would LOVE that patina on my watch. I traded the patina off for lume convenience, I am sure in 40 years I will regret my decision.

I was torn between a superluminova and the early 90s tritium. I went with tritium because I hardly ever use my watch at night and I like the chance of getting some patina.

Next time I go to an AD I'll check out a new ceramic sub and compare

Hard to see the coloration on this 43 y/o watch; the material is still visible in very dark environments.

Hey Jocke:

Did you notice that the tritium hour lumes are also "shrinking" over time?

You can now see the underlying white markers on the dial....I have seen this with radium lumes as well....

Vintage watches "never get old" for the astute collector!

I have this on more than one watch and you didn't see the white below the Tritium so much with a naked eye.

my 16610 sub date has a set of service hands in it and a bezel insert ( kinda bums me out but wasn't a big deal during service by previous owner . the newer hands have been on watch for enough years to have lost the lume but the bezel pearl still glows bright with a charge ! the hour markers are a beautiful creamy tone and i wish it all matched but it's a well kept watch and was a full kit and priced right so i snatched it up ! i hope the patina will eventually get closer in shade and match better and i hope wearing it a lot outdoors won't bleach the hour markers but either way i enjoy it ! here is an OK pic to get an idea of shade differences ! in certain light they almost match and in other light they are so far off it is crazy !
