Cop414 is this your town? Horrible story, I hope she progresses well during her recovery.

Jason, yes it is. The hospital where she's been at was in my jurisdiction before I retired. I see those kids on the news and they seem to act so smug, makes me furious. I was just saying to Holly this morning I can't imagine that poor woman making the trip back to Ohio, ever underpass that she goes under will have to make her cringe...
The Budds seem like the nicest people, while I've never met them they don't seem to carry any animosity, I don't think that I'd feel the same way.

Forgiveness is a big part of my faith. I don't think I could forgive in this instance. A similar incident happened out here years ago. An old man died. For some reason it stuck with me, and now I always look up at over passes when I go under them. All I have ever seen though are WSP troopers with radar guns. |

Similar thing happened in Germany some years back, when someone unknown *presumably youngsters* threw a log from an overpass down on the autobahn. That woman was killed.

These geniuses didn't think a 4.6 pound rock would do any damage? I think the legal deal they made sucks. They should all be looking at a minimum of 5 years in prison.
Even Pistorius got 5 years and he "accidently" killed someone. |

Just an update on this story today. Three of the four juveniles were denied trials as juveniles. The fourth who was 19 has already pled no contest. The wheels are turning slowly but they are moving.

She is lucky to be alive, hopefully she continues to make good progress in her recovery. Once every couple of years in the news you hear of someone getting killed when rocks or other heavy objects are thrown off overpasses by (usually) juveniles... glad to hear these kids will be tried as adults. Hopefully they have a nice long time to think about it in prison.
