Help with a Monte Carlo

Hello guys I will be going to look at a 7031/0 tomorrow morning. I was hoping you can help me out on the originality of this watch. It is a huge sum of money. I apologize for the poor pictures of the watch.

Watch is currently at US$758 with six days left. What was this "huge sum of money" you were going to pay for it tomorrow?

It was almost 5 digits. I spoke with the owner of the watch on the telephone. Not a bad guy on the phone perhaps. He sent me over pictures etc. Before making a final answer to him I wanted to ask the forum.

This is a bit confusing. Leave aside the fact that this is a fake for a moment. Didn't you feel tempted to join the auction at a few hundred dollars, rather than consider paying five figures outright?

My rule for ebay is dont purchase if you cant drive to pick it up. I offered him a solid price. My ego is small so I always try to ask before purchasing.

But if you were going to look at it tomorrow morning, then presumably you could drive to pick it up?

Then why not buy it on ebay and potentially save yourself five figures?

My advise is the following: If you are looking for a specific model buy it from somebody who is an expert on it and backs it up. Yes you will most likely pay high wholesale or even retail for it but you will get what you pay for. if you are looking for a steal or below market deal you better be an expert or a good gambler as there are more experts and dealers than i can count looking and ready to buy in seconds when there trained eye sees something thats a deal.

Great advice Nikos! That is why all my purchases on this forum have been from sellers with stellar reviews and knowledge on what they are selling! I will pay extra just for that reason knowing I am getting a correct watch, since these sellers would not do anything to hurt their reputation on this awesome forum!

The dial, Hands, Pushers are 100% fake... the caseback looks like it was pulled off another watch.

Seller looks like he deals in $700-1500 watchs. Def out of his element. I'd say he got took and is unknownling selling it.

If you are going to play in the big leagues you should make sure the other team is legit. If you are going to spend this kind of money on Ebay, you need to be fully educated on the watch you are buying, otherwise go with someone who is (fully educated).

Terrible fake. Home plate markers aren't even close to the chapter ring. Buy from a reputable dealer, the peace of mind is worth the extra money.

Hq Milton has had a couple monte Carlos at fair prices lately.

That'd be a good place to start if you must have one.

I love that the seller had a shill ask a few questions that he conveniently answers to try and make the fake piece look legit...
