GPS connected to laptop
I just bought a motorhome and will be hitting the road in a couple of weeks.
Is there a way to get a GPS connection through the laptop without being internet connected? I bought Microsofts street program a few years back but unfortunately they have disconnected the European map section now so it's useless. It was great having the map on a larger screen. I tried Google it but all I can find is versions that have bluetooth on the laptop which I don't have. Any ideas? |

Yes, GPS and Internet is not the same.
But why not just buy a Garmin Nav?

Yes - that will work though it will require a program that can take the GPS Coordinates. If you have Google Maps on a laptop they cannot update with out Internet.
You mentioned Bluetooth on your laptop - you can also get USB Bluetooth adapters http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss...er%2Caps%2C198

Check with Garmin. They have GPS receivers that come with software to load into your computer. The Garmin receives the satellite signal, you connect to yout laptop, and the computer displays it.
