Yesterday I tried the 30 in RG and the 11 in white ceramic. Size wise they looked the same but in terms of complications I believe the 11 could be more useful. Anyway, I have to decide if getting a RM or a Datograph. This same AD is getting a Dato up/down platinum for me that tentatively arrives in august. I will stay my course and wait for it before jumping to buy anything else. Datograph is a grail of mine.

Yep. Seems the 11 is the safe bet when it comes to RM. But as you say, the difficult part is finding one.

As to Dato or RM (011), I really think two completely different watches.

For me it would be an AND vs an OR.

Could see both in a collection as one is really a 'dress watch' and one is the quintessential 'sports watch'. Truly depends on your lifestyle.

For me it's sports watches 100% of the time, as I don't really wear suits or formal attire and even when I do, nothing like rocking a great RM.

You are totally right, it is a AND not an OR decision. Both are beautiful watches and leaders in their segments. Hopefully some day I can own both.

6.75 and to be honest I also felt it was a bit in the large side.

Well all RM's seem a bit larger because of the height of the watch. However, the curved back makes them so comfortable and once you have it on they are not large by any means.

I have a 6.5" wrist and it's perfect. Pics and side angles make any RM look a little larger.

Go with your gut, but it's such a comfortable watch you won't even notice wearing it.

Very cool, about the RM030 I tend to like it more than the 011, but if it's priced the same in this case maybe the 011 is a better buy, just find it strange that a chrono is priced same as a PR even if it has declutchable rotor, but I guess they need to be seen in real, maybe the 011 looks better, there was a video posted here not long ago where you saw the new carbon 011 and the light reflects incredibly on the movement, in any case they do look incredible whatever the model...

Definitely the 8 if you're getting only one. They're so rare it's hard to even get a sense of the going rate for them.

My goodness! The 008 is one of the best RM ever made IMHO. I don't like very much the casework on the 015 so for me it would be an easy choice. For reference, here is the 008 and this is the 015.

It's with a dealer that is known for sky high prices, so I suspect that it will be a fruitless visit, but liquidity on these pieces is very weak presumably, so maybe I can persuade him to be commercial about it!

At that price point ($500k+), almost any brand liquidity is challenging.

I have a feeling Roger can be VERY persuasive and have him see the light to let that 008 go at a reasonable price
