Oil Filled Watches

I've been really interested in the idea of oil filled watches. I just think the way the dial looks, with the oil, just magnifies off the crystal. Its like its actually printed on the glass itself...I've seen a few models here and there, but haven't seen any lately. Most of the one's i've seen are quartz movements other than the Ressence Type 3 (which is unbelievably amazing! here's a link in case you haven't seen it...and there are videos showing the function...http://ressence.eu/collection/type-3/ ) Just wondered if it's possible to use in a mechanical watch...

So in closing, are oil filled watches still manufacturered? And if so, what models are available? And are there any traditional mechanical watch movements using it?

I own this watch almost 6 years and it had been an absolute keeper... The oil fill case has very special and unique feature. Not only it is water resistant, the all round visibility and clarify reading time underwater is unmatched. No blind spot ie views at 45 degree tilt. The UX case is so robust I yet to put a scratch mark let alone ding the case. I highly recommend SINN UX!

That is amazing! it's hard to believe how clear the dial is when filled with oil...i'm definitely contemplating it....Just want to see what other options there are in this category...

I like Ressence too - very cool watches. But that Sinn looks good too. I think Mühle Glashutte might have one too.

I missed out on one too. I ended up getting a Type Marine, which was flipped a long time ago.
Hopefully B&R will resurrect their Professional range at some point.
