rotor material?

Hi all, was wondering from what material is the RG 44mm rotor made of? I guess WG but maybe PT? I know that on some models they have PT rotors, what about these?

I wonder why they did that treatment to make it that color. Is it so it stands out against the case color?

My SS RO has a YG color, which it makes it stand out against the rest of the case.

I don't know JJ, seems it would have been nicer in YG than like this but it's not a deal braker

Agree on both accounts. I would like to have seen it in a different color, but it wouldn't stop me from adding this piece - if I could.

is there a benefit to a gold rotor? are any of the properties of gold useful in a rotor? or is it just for prestige?

Guess it could help with winding efficiently since gold is so dense. Plat would prob be better since its even more dense.

On the AP caliber 2226 they attached 22k on the outside of the rotor. Can only assume this is to move more weight to the outside of the rotor to improve efficiency.

Edit: guess the new AP2897 movement does use platinum in the outer rotor setup on the ROO carbon turbillon

I believe it is done to give the piece a more sporting aesthetic in line with the ROO's overall vibe.

edit: although they chose not to on the diver of course so maybe not
