The traditionalists tend to frown on sports models with suits...but I'm not a traditionalist. I'm a watch enthusiast. When I see pictures of guys (like in this very thread) wearing nice clothes with a sports watch, I don't see it as detracting from the suit, I see it as a guy with nice clothes and a really cool watch. So take that for whatever it's worth and get what you want.

Between the two, I think the Daytona dresses up a little more, but really it's more about what you want/need more.

Unless you're James Bond (which you ain't) don't wear a sport watch with a suit. 36mm DJ with fluted bezel, or DD 36 or DD40.

Rolex With A Suit

In my opinion any Rolex looks good with a Suit, obviously depending on the occasion some are more appropriate than others. I am a big GMT fan, so BLNR gets my vote.
(Sorry for the poor quality phone pictures)

It really seems that these days the traditional rules of fashion are much, much more relaxed. As evidenced by the photo below. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1444694312.156473.jpgI would suggest going with what makes you happy and wear it with confidence. At the end of the day, few people will ever notice anyway.

OP, I think you can wear pretty much any Rolex with a suit. I think a DSSD might be stretching it a bit but I bet there are those amongst us who could pull it off.

Either one is good. BLNR would be my choice.

The Daytona and BLNR are both great-looking watches. Both look great in close-up pictures of one's wrist. But numbered bezel and chrono watches aren't dressy (even if they do say "Rolex"), and a suit is dressy, so neither looks great with a suit.

Wear what you like, but having 1 dressy watch in one's collection never killed anyone.

My Daytona makes my suit shine... But I feel many Rolex watches would do the same!

And from the look of things, it's about time to go home!

Thanks for the kind comment! I don't have to wear a suit often anymore, usually for special occasions, but I think any Rolex can work.

He ain't James Bond because no one is...... James Bond does not exist except in make believe land..... For wearing a watch with a suit in the real world see above, and in addition to that list

AP Royal Oak Jumbo or 15400....
Patek Nautilus

If you really want to get specific about what watch you should wear with a suit look no further then anything 36-40mm with a leather or croc strap. This ranges from a Seiko 5 to a Lange 1.

Let's also remember that Bond in the books probably wore a 36 mm Explorer, based on Flemings description of the watch which was probably his own in real life. The Sub was almost accidentally placed on Connery's wrist as a loan from the director because they could not get Rolex to donate a watch to the filming of 'Dr No."

I have a classic DJ, any version looks killer with a suit, IMO

Any thoughts (or better yet photos) of an Oysterquartz with a suit? I'm on the hunt for one and may sacrifice my current dress piece (Nomos Orion) to get it.

That's the best for a suit. No arguments about that.
