first 5 year inspection

I am planning to bring my watch in for it's first 5 year inspection. I have a GMT SS and I was wondering if they did the standard cleaning, inspection and lubrication what would I be looking at for price? On a first 5 year inspection of a watch that has been babied and only worn only on the weekends, what is the chances that I would need parts replacements?

Poor watch only being worn on the weekends. I'm teasing. If your watch is running great then shouldn't need any replacement parts.

I would not service it until there was a problem. But if you are dead set on it, it would be around 650 for a full service and that is what they would do. That will include the usual parts but not parts such as a crystal.

A polish would be included for that pice. (RSCs charge different prices from country to country)

I concur, a watch worn only on weekends really shouldn't need serviced at this point. I round recommend a pressure test though as gaskets could be drying out at that point.

Yes! Definitely pressure test.

If you are not having any problems, leave it alone. Rolex recommends a service every ten years.

Same watch is sold now with a 10yr service interval recommendation.

Thanks guys. I'll check in the new year about what I want to do. I would like o get the seals checked, lubed and polished. when they polish, can they bring it back to near new look? Also the reason I only wear on the weekends and vacations is because I work with my hands at a utilities company and for safety reasons their policy is no jewelry. Also I don't want to damage it.

I like to keep my watches tuned up but really not necessary if your watch is fairly new 5 years old and not having any issues. I just took my 1985 Explorer II in last week to get completely rebuilt as it was tight when adjusting the time. Tom is a CW21 Watch Maker at http://www.dstimeservice.com/ he charges around $500 and has rebuilt all of my watches taking them completely apart and servicing them. Not sure the cost for a basic replace seals, lubricate and pressure test...
