Does everyone that own a Vintage know so much about them?
As stupid as this may sound, I am actually wondering this.
I know I have a lot of love for vintage pieces. I simply cannot memorise all the different variants. Some folks can easily spot the variant, whether the insert is period correct, crown, and so on. Serial number with production year, and any errors that are seen with that. I always use my links online to cross check as I find it impossible to memorise the different variants. Especially for all the references. Still, vintage is where my heart is. Learning every day also. |

I suspect we all have our reference documents or pages saved for our interests.

I enjoy learning, the research, and the friendships more than owning a watch. Don't try to memorize everything. Instead just research what you love.

I research the references I like, save the links, try to look at the different variants, and so on. Another colleague at the office who has been into vintage for 5+ years and knows all the information, difference variants of different references, tells me I am rushing as I don't know everything about the vintage world yet. I don't need to know all the variants to know that a certain reference sings to me when I have worn it. |

My guess is as long it's rolex we talk abut no one can't know exactly everything
As more you think it's clear the more you find out to actually is unclear One thing I lern is that I never can be 100 in my own knowing and need assistance on the road to next purchase (if it is online reference table or forum friends simply do not bother me) Second my watches is not for sale so I feel good not find I was wrong down the road selling a wrong adviticed Rolex Jonas straka |
