Datejust help- potential birth year purchase.

A little help appreciated... I am looking to possibly purchase this birth year-68', Datejust. Does anyone see anything that jumps out as a red flag? I'm unfamiliar with the older style datejust. Thanks for any help as always.

The bracelet is a newer one. The original would have been an oval link. Otherwise it looks right with the pie pan and it should be an acrylic crystal.

Just wondering - it looks like the end links are odd fitting and that may be because it is on a newer bracelet. Some with more knowledge might comment on what number the end links should be.

The links should be 555s but I have seen others on this. Look at the dial where it meets the edge of the rehaut. Mine has some paint degrading and I uave seen this a few times before. Nice watch. Slow set which is annoying.

Yes, not sure if the bracelet is original

yup, bracelet is later D section jubilee. I think the original jubilee should be the crimped kidney shape. End links should be "55" IIRC The clasp is right for the bracelet era i think. having just spoken to a watchmaker about extending my own '68 DD Jubilee strap, I can see how it was easier just to replace it with a more modern one - its not straightforward!
