New explorer 2 black
Quote:
I bought black explorer 2 a month ago. I have small wrist 6.5 inch. I liked the complications of the explorer 2 and GMT hand is amazing. Also the bracelet is super strong with micro adjustment clasp which is very useful. The blue luminescence at night is amazing and stays bright for whole night. Initially I thought the dial would be bigger for my wrist and in the last 4 weeks I got used to it. It feels slightly heavy and probably I need some more time to get used to it. I would strongly recommend you to go for new black k explorer and I am sure you won't regret. Good luck and keep us posted with your progress Thank you. |

I have a SubC and new Polar Explorer 2. The Explorer, though larger at 42 is more comfortable on the wrist and wears "smaller" than the Sub- maybe because of the lower profile. I've had a number of Rolex watches throughout the years and the new Explorer is by far my favorite.

Oh no Steve, I thought you had the newer Exp 2 black dial as your favourite.
What are they making way for? To Threadstarter, You cant go wrong with the 16570. Built to last, all rounder watch. The newer reference with all its upgrades will be good, only if you dont mind the size. It sits flat on most wrists, comfy, but with the 42mm and thicker hands, does make it a slightly larger profile. Quote:

![]() I so want to like it. To look at, yes it's my favourite...but every time I wear it I end up taking it off! I find it to clunky. They are making way for the Grail... |

Awesome, good luck on the grail(s)!
Day date 40 is awesome, can have a look. Should keep 1 of the 216570 though, as a complete collection of the modern explorers lineup. ![]() |

I have a polar 16570 and found a great polar 216570 preowned for $5300. Figured it was time to go bigger. I went to my local AD to try the 42mm on just to be sure and it was just too big for me (my wrist is about 6.5"). Unfortunately or fortunately for me, they happened to have a 116520 in stock which fit beautifully. Cost me more than double, but very happy now with both.

I'd go with the 216570 hands down. I have a few thoughts on it posted https://www.minus4plus6.com/SD4000.php and https://www.minus4plus6.com/216570.php
I've had the 216570 for the last four years and haven't gone back. ![]() -Sheldon |

I have a polar 16570 v-serial and a newer 116610 sub...the 16570 is such a nice classic watch...since I work a lot at night, my only gripe on the 16570 is the lume...it works...but it doesn't last as long or stay as bright as the 116610. I think the lume is the same on the 116610 and 216570. Just something to consider.

I think the new one hands down. The quality of the new version is just so much better. New bracelet, movement etc. The drawback si it is big but it is also flat so it wears "smaller" than a 42mm watch, if that makes sense. If you want a 40mm version the only one that makes sense to me is the McQueen but thats real $$$ now. Otherwise...42mm for me.

I'm having a dilemma here myself. Thinking of adding a Polar Explorer and not sure which one to get to complement my Pepsi and my SubC
