no stickers on Rolex that is being sold as a new unworn piece
Hi All,
I am purchasing a Rolex Milgauss and the dealer is not an official Rolex dealer but has access to Rolex stock through a previous working Relationship. The dealership is authentic and well know and respected. I have been told the Rolex is new and unworn however I noticed it does not have any of the plastic coverings on the strap, the bezel, the clasp. My Rolex Sub c that I did purchase in an official rolex dealership had all of these. I have no concern the watch is legitimate however I just wanted peoples opinion and have they ever experienced of this from a dealer in a respected shop. Am I being anal or is their a reason an unworn watch would present itself in this fashion. Appreciate feedback and thanks is advance |

If it's been on display they may have taken off the stickers. Seems to vary from dealers what stickers they leave on in this case. Have you noted your observation to the seller? Usually from the factory there are stickers.

Depends if you intended to keep the stickers on when you wear it, if not....................

It's fine....if you look in an AD's window, most will have stickers removed for display

Every dealer preps their inventory differently. Not an issue.

the question is of the stickers on it, are they clear on edges or just center, unless the sticker on the third lug from the second one from right center, in which case that should be clear except for a small line just off center from top left to bottom, unless looking at it from the right in which case it appears clear but only on Tuesdays, then it's green, so if the sticker on the third lug from the second one from right center is clear but shows a line that's off center to the right and green you should be good - otherwise I'd walk away.

Is the watch defective in any other way?
My AD removes stickers from brand new watches to put on display. If your biggest concern with the watch are stickers...you don't have a problem. |

If there are no scratches you are good to go however I would check out the warranty card date and name.

It's no big deal, but that watch is definitely worth a little less than nib stickered pieces.

I've seen pieces at ADs with the stickers off. Prefer them on personally if I'm buying new but wouldn't be a deal breaker for the right piece and price.

If the stickers are off, it's not a new watch. This isn't to say that if the stickers were left on, someone could have been wearing the watch anyways. The thing is, stickers get dirty and this would be a sign that the watch had been previously worn. If the stickers are off, you're not going to know if it was worn. I'd ask for a reduction in the price more so than if it was still stickered and unworn.

I have seen a totally scratched Rolex being polished and buffed to the point that it looks 100% brand new. the stickers show that the watch is 100% new. an AD that peels off the stickers off the watches for display purposes might get away with it for its an AD. a private seller doing so...... mmmmm

I'll take it one step further lol. I now request (If I am paying AD prices with nominal discount) the watch to come in its coffin case, hang tag in the foam, bezel protector, everything! Tis a nice feeling (combined with the free champagne).
p.s. they always want to take off the stickers! They did it once on my BLNR and while I didn't say anything due to my joy, I would have liked to have had them on. I keep all my stickers in their own plastic bag and placed inside the box :D |

I wouldn't buy the watch as brand new unless it had it stickers on. I would request pre owned pricing.

i respectfully disagree not useless, stickers matter for some, if its been tried on by 20 people before someone pulled the trigger its kept the watch free of germs
but take them off afterwards

I would only be concerned that it was worn and returned so check very carefully for marks, if none, then should be OK but it's a chance to get a better price.

If I'm buying a NEW watch, it must be covered in stickers, that is an absolute requirement for me. If you are not buying new from an AD, I'm not sure you can be as picky.
