PT vs Steel

I don't have a lot of experience with PM watches beyond my rose gold Hublot which is unbelievably soft and dents with the lightest impacts. I was contemplating buying a platinum piece and was wondering how it compares to gold and steel in terms of hardness in the real world, not MOH scale figures. I was also curious how a PT rolex would stand up to polishing. Thanks for your insights.
