That's a pretty serious accusation to throw out about an item being sold by a trusted seller here... I'd think you need to back up your statement as to why you state the watch is fake.

Exactly. As much as the buyer here wants to buy the seller, the seller also has a right to choose his buyer and state his terms. Don't like don't buy. No loss, simple. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Seller will not take Rolex to authorized dealer before purchase

The awkward moment when someone tries to complain about the price or has a thousand minds about it with plenty of doubts and posting here for the world to see and at this moment someone comes up and immediately purchases the watch with no qualms in a minute. Congrats on the sale buddy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So after reading this whole thread, which BTW was interesting, here is my observation. I think at some point the buyer was just not worth dealing with anymore by ATG. The first post said he was "interested" in the watch but didn't seem to commit to buying the watch if it all checked out. The title to this thread says 'will not take Rolex to AD before purchase' but then later he said he offered to do just that the first time they met. Which for some reason did not happen after the first meet. Then after this first meeting ATG called the AD and they did not want to assist in his secondary Rolex 'business.' They'd probably rather sell new Rolex's than support the secondary market. At which point ATG offered to take it to his watchmaker (which most TS seem to have access to) but this was not acceptable to the buyer. The question about the crystal is legitimate. A 25 year old watch could have a replacement crystal installed before ATG took possession, hard to verify this. A TS is going to maximize the ROI of his time and energy and if this buyer can't be made happy then at some point what can be done? So in the mean time he has other people that want the watch that will agree to his terms and much less work so... the watch is sold at less effort than this buyer. Realize that this watch may net the seller only a few hundred bucks and after a week of effort it is just better to move on. Everyone has bills to pay. End of story.
There is not always a happy match between buyer and seller. There may be no fault other than the buyer and seller just can't get along and make a deal. No foul here. In the mean time there are plenty of Rolex's in this vintage for sale out there. I'd suggest the buyer look on Watch Recon for a similar watch. Check out the seller first, and make a purchase. http://www.watchrecon.com/?query=69173&brand=rolex |

After reading this whole thread, I really think there should be a "who's who"/"watch out" sub-forum for naming certain buyers to help warn other sellers.....
