Buyers Advice

Hi there fellow members I am new to this site, first of all regards to everyone and my best wishes! Let me introduce myself, my name is Isaac I live in Mexico, I am a 27 years old guy who loves boats, fishing and watches. I have been in the watch world almost 8 years, my first watch was a 2 tone Omega Constellation, and since that first piece I fell in love with watches. By the passing years I learned more about watches and Rolex was the obvios next step so I went for a Datejust in SS. Then I sold it and invest in a little bussines, that saddly was a faillure but I keep going know continue working and recover from that event. I entered my dad's company about 4 yeras ago and work hard now I am kbnow a sales manager so bussines is getting better. As my sallary grew my taste for watches grew, I have had fling with IWC and even AP (I had a Royal Oak 33mm), I sold the AP and said to myself what is next? The obvious choice was Patek (I had a vintage PP Calatrava in mind), but let me tell you something that you gays know there is nothing like a Rolex, the resale value, the brand, the beauty of the models, the history, the quality and endurance of the movements, I can make a very long list of the Rolex qualities. In my fling with IWC and AP I hate that everybody had Rolex and subs and DJ, so one good day my watchmaker told to me: Hey everybody has Rolex for the right resons, so that day I return to the Rolex world. YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH A ROLEX!!! This take a time but finally I was able to understand it.
Now I own a DJ 16233
A submariner 14060
And a Day-Date in yellow gold(gift from my dad).

(edited to meet Forum guidelines)
Thank you for your time, have a great day!!!

I dont know why my post was upload incomplete. But I want to ask if you wold trade my DJ for a Yachtmaster?? I love that the DJ is a watch and use a T-shirt and look good, but also wear it with a tuxedo and look great. But because I recently bought a boat, I am into the yachtmaster. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Congrats , Isaac.

My advice: I don't trade or sell watches that I enjoy. And I try not to accumulate too many.

would be hard to trade any of those, i would be adding the YM if you can

if not, i would use the sub when on the boat rather than give up your DJ

I enjoy the DJ, but know I cant afford to have both, I think to increase the value of my watch "collection" woulndt be right to go ind debt for a watch, that I want but I dont need, so that it why I want to trade.

I wore the sub last week in my boat, I own a Grady White Marlin 30 in partnership with my dad. I felt very happy wearing my Sub and driving my boat, I felt I was doing good in life, I tought this is why I work for, you know when I was in Bussines School, I only dreamnt about owning a Sub and a boat, and 4 years ago when I finish school and entered "The rea hard working world" I woulndt even imagine I would have both in a 4-5 years period. Thank you for your advice!!!!!!

Because you should try a watch before you buy it. Sometimes a model can look grate on a picture but in real life it might not sing to you

My choice;

Hi Isaac!
Welcome! And congratulations! My suggestion...
Keep all your watches and go for the YM if you are sure you like it!

Hey Isaac, welcome, I love Mexico!

Anyhow, I would choose the YM over the DJ - But if you feel that giving yourself a few months until the moneys are back up from the purchase of the boat, I'd wait a little and aim to have both.

I'd visit an AD and try a bunch of different models on.

That seems the best option for me. It is das that the YM will have to wait but eventualy I will get it, and also I will keep the DJ. Thanks for the advice.
