How many Rolex are enough?

I own a Datejust (16200) and a Sub C (116610), I don't need another one, I think the 2 Rolex watches I have are enough! However, I can't stop thinking about the 2016 Explorer 1 with the all lume dial and started thinking that perhaps I can add one more?!?

Your thoughts?

I think 10 is a good number.

If you are a WIS, as many as you can afford I reckon while still ensuring your financial future.

You could never have enough.

That's the problem with TRF - it keeps pulling you back in and the ever elusive 'enough' satisfaction is hard to come by :)

Really depends on your wants. For some, there is the ONE. For others, as many as they can afford. For watch lovers, one for every occasion, and of course the "land, sea and air" collection.

I'm not saying how many I have but it has seemed like enough for the last 20-30 days or so but that feeling is starting to wear off.

I have two, and am thinking that's enough for me as well....

......but that doesn't mean I don't want a Tudor, Blancpain, JLC, Cartier, Grand Seiko, Glashutte, ALS, AP, PP, Journe.

We'll see when the time comes, if I ever have enough money for another watch, maybe I'll go with another Rolex, but there are so many options out there as well.

As many as you can afford. When you hit that, buy one more!

I can't see how it's any less than 6:

Sub, Daytona, GMT, Datejust, PM of your choice (DD for me), Oversize/complication (YM2/Sky Dweller/Deep Sea).

I consolidated from 3 to 2 and then from 2 to 1. Personally, I feel Rolex sport watches are often very similar... That's not to say I wouldn't own more than one, but it does mean I look at other brands as well more frequently if I'm looking for something a bit different.

I do see myself owning more Rolex watches in the future though. Rolex is the only brand that can do everything, all the time and with such amazing reliability and robustness.

You can have many variations of the same watch, depends on how much you want to put down on watches.

Was just thinking about this. What the perfect number is, that is. Was at 12 and liquidated some recently. At some point, seemed like I was buying things for sake of it. Only have one wrist.

To me, now, the sweet spot seems to be about 6-7, while still maintaining some variety of style and function.

I think Matt Jacobson (Facebook/hodinkee) said something like I don't need to have every expression of a reference as long as I have the right reference.
