ROO stopped
Just had my Royal Oak Offshore back from servicing with AP. Put it on the winder and went away for a couple of weeks. When I returned the watch had stopped and, since wearing it for a day, is still stopping. Can I manual wind this model? It doesn't sound or feel as though it does but I'm not sure. I've been moving it around on my wrist and it will start again but stops later. Any experience of this?

unscrew the crown and wind it 20-30 times. PR should be about 50 hours if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried pulling the crown out a little further before winding. This seems to have done the trick but I'll wait and see. Has anyone else experienced problems with winding?

A while ago something went loose on my 44 so the crown would just spin but the hands wouldn't move and winding was out of the question. The feeling immediately before the issue was very gritty, as opposed to the usual very smooth crown action. I sent it to APSC and they fixed it quickly.
If in doubt, have it checked by AP.

My grey theme had the same problem when it was on winder. Movement stopped and power reserved went ridiculously Low. Sent it back to AP for repair. Ever since I got it back, I never put my APs into winder anymore. No issue so far.
An advice from an AP senior is that AP movement doesn't go well with a watch winder. And I think he is right. No big deal without a winder. In fact I do enjoy winding up my watches once every two weeks during rotation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Many thanks for the feedback. I've now given up. The watch doesn't seem to be powering up. Manual wind does nothing and there doesnt seem to be enough wrist movement to keep it running accurately. When I first had it back from the service it was perfect. It has never recovered from being on the winder. Looks like it may have to go back to AP. I now wonder if it is only useable when worn all the time. I wear a Sea Dweller for everyday and wanted the AP for more formal occasions so it may be a problem. Very disappointed.

The watch was sent to Madrid, Spain from the UK. I'll get back to AP (London) and keep you updated.

Is it a 44mm? I had pretty much the same prob with mine. The chrono module went bad and AP replaced it and gave me a new 2 yr warranty. Took 5 weeks for the repair, and I had it polished too.

It's the 42mm chrono titanium. It's so annoying because the watch has just come back from a service which took 3 months! Love the watch but this is not good

AP are taking the watch back so we'll see how long it takes to get rectified.
