Fake Rolex Submariner Hulk ebay

Hi,

I'm no expert on the Submariner, but this doesn't feel right.

Please could somebody give their opinion and maybe report.

what gives it away as a fake. I've compared it to other pics of hulks I've seen and just cant see the differences.

From those carefully orchestrated photos, one can hardly tell its a watch, that said a couple of things points me to fake.
Waiting for others prior to reporting

I don't see any of the jump out things I normally look for...but those pictures are miserably done up. I'm having trouble seeing the etched crown though...

I am a very newbie but the bottom of the 3 is too round, top is squared off as it should be. Experts correct me if I'm wrong. I'm still learning

I must say I really love these types of threads. There's no way of telling if a watch is real or not based on pictures I bought many watches and frankly you can't tell for all you know they could show you pictures of the real thing then send you a fake.

I made a purchase online once from a reputable dealer or so I thought "Watchuwant" many of you have heard of it I'm sure and I'm sure have had good transactions with them I can't say the same they sold me what I thought was a excellent condition watch that turned out to be completely over polished in fact the Buckle was basically ruined. They sent me pictures and tried to say that because of how the pictures were taken the watch looks that way the story of course changed after I received the watch when they tried to say that I knew all about it and they were up front.

Moral of that story trust only what you are able to touch... there's lots of great trusted sellers on the Forum and I don't mean anything against anyone that sells great watches. I've even flown to see watches before I bought them but I'll never make the same mistake I made. Again you'll never be able to tell them that you pop the back if it's real or not

The bezel font are too dark and are off. SEL's are poor, you can see daylight through them in one image. But the most blindingly obvious tell is that the dial layout doesn't exist on a hulk; the spacing is incorrect.

Clearly this one has talent with the camera, not a straight on shot anywhere, subtle lighting changes and he never clearly shows the rehaut in focus or the lec in anyway, no clear straight crown pic, movement pic or shot of the inner clasp or inner endlinks which we all like to see to authenticate with certainty. Overall those endlink gaps just could not be on an authentic piece IMHO and the coronet on the crown appears to be mis-centred and one prong seems extend all the way to the edge of it. However this watch is difficult as he has not given much up although he has provided fairly nice looking pics they tell you little. I am currently travelling and only have an iPhone size screen, maybe a large screen would make other incorrect features more obvious on this watch but that's my take with the equip I currently have cheers.

I have to concur with David. I have studied and studied, found only 1 suspect item, and "probably" is NOT good enough to report it.

The seller is happy to meet at an AD to authorize the sale, so that is 1 thing in his favour.
Currently not reported by myself

This is completely wrong. You may not be able to tell if a watch is real or fake, but several of the respected members (not me) on here can. With clear pictures it can be done accurately. Now if that is the watch you get, well no one can control that except for the person sending it. Main thing is, do you feel good and comfortable with the person selling it?

Okay I have contacted the seller.
He told me serial number but has no warrantycard, he sent me couple of pictures of the rehaut serial but they are very shitty and impossible to read.
Also send picture of clasp code is ST9.

ST9 would appear the new random numbers from 2011.
Is rehaut serial number 8 digit?

Anyway, with those photos I would NOT touch it!!!

Yes he gave me a 8 digit number, but asked for several pictures of rehaut they are all impossible to read.
It has polished clasp by the way which year was that introduced?

I'm not touching it just wanted to warn people.

I see several things that would cause me to pass on this one. The dial and bezel can be seen on EBay and offered by (honest?) sellers referring to them as "custom" or "aftermarket", however I think they're all suspect because I also see auctions where this crucial info isn't being divulged and pricing is comparable to authentic Hulks.

the photos are good. the seller is questionable.

the fault isn't always with the item.

it may even be a case of the eBay account holder being a front for a seller that doesn't do eBay. the seller may be brokering off another site or making a sale then trying to get the item to flip.

if you do a search in Germany, i bet you'll find these watches on a local classified or Chrono24 because i have yet to see a con artist cancel deals. they could send a brick in a box and run with the cash.

again, the seller is the issue.

wow. that watch looks great to me. i would have no idea it was poop.

but yes, agree that i would not buy from a guy with 90% positive feedback. One out of 10 times people are not satisfied?

Not good odds.
