That's a luminova service dial replacement....which affects the price substantially IMO....no where near 4K IMO...I'd pass. $2800 max for me.

Like I stated before the crown guards have been polished and ruined in my opinion. The dial looks like it was relumed.I have never seen a luminova 16750 matte dial. Those that claim it is luminova please explain with proof that such exist. The matte dial for a 16750 was for a short period than the wg glosssy dial came out and it is the replacement or service dial Rolex will give you. Everything has a price and with that watch having a shot case in my opinion and a relumed dial and handset. What is it worth to you?Me I wouldnt pay more than $1200.00 for it max.Parts wise its less so?If you had to part it out this is what you have basically.
Case back?2-300
Movement? 500-800
Band? 300-400
bezel and insert? 200-300

Greekbum, to your point i have never seen this dial on a 16750 either! However, there was a short period when service centers replaced matte dialed watches with luminova matte dials. I have learned one thing with vintage Rolex, never say never!!!

If it were me (and it isn't) I would pass. To many issues for me to be comfortable.

The crown guards do look overpolished to me and the bezel looks worn.

The dial issue has been discussed. I've never seen or heard of a matt luminova dial on a 16750. I'd wonder re-lume?

The hands have no lume?

I'd look for a better example. Good luck.

the limes on the hour and minute hands are definately dead. Much like this sale.

Thank you all for your input. I guess I am still looking for an all original 16750 matte maxi with all boxes and papers. Email me with pics and price if you have one

Thank you

Pete

I would pass on this, too!

Springer's piece look much more attractive, price and condition wise!

An interesting fact that i have noticed throughout the years is that most of the early 16750 from 1979 - 1980 (6 mill serial ) have egg shell colored markers on the original matte dials, very seldom do i see dark patina on these dial Markers.
