What should I wear to the beach?

We're headed to the beach for 4 days. We're not doing any serious watersports, bust some basic sunbathing and a few dips in the pool. My wife is leaving hers here, in our secret hiding place.

Choices are these:

a) Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000, on SS Oyster bracelet.

b) Casio DW-280 digital (200m WR) on a cheap rubber strap. I can't vouch for it's water resistance as it is 14 years old and had a battery change.

c) Lorus 100m Pepsi "diver" - Same deal with the battery, and this guy is probably 20+ years old. Maratac NATO strap.

d) Back to the Sea-Dweller, but on the Maratec NATO from the Lorus.

e) No watch, but look for an interesting digital or Invicta/Citizen/Seiko diver at the shore.

You'll be dwelling in the sea, so I'd go with the aptly named Rollie on the oyster band.

I used to take my Sinn U1 to the beach... now I go naked! LOL
It gets annoying I feel... especially if you want to do any sand sports. Either way, you can't go wrong...

SD on bracelet. It's what it's made for.

I would go for the Sea Dweller or the Casio. Have a good time.

I have been the past few days in Cancun Mexico - very beautiful by the way.

I saw a few Subs while here. In fact, a Father and his 3 boys all wearing a SS Sub. thought that was pretty cool. That being said - SD makes sense....

SD on the oyster would be my first choice, but bring the nato along for a bit of a change!

A cheap Seiko Divers will do unless you are there to break some scuba diving records. This way you don't have to worry that your SD might sink into the sea and dwell in it forever. Don't use a knife that is meant for slaughtering cows to kill a chicken as the saying goes.

SD of course.
I would like to see more Rollies do what they were made for.

Interesting saying. Analogous to "don't bring a knife to a gun fight" I guess. Or more likely "trying to kill flies with a hammer".

I probably won't go in more than 5 feet of water.

I might read a scuba magazine if I'm feeling adventurous.

I'm taking my Speedo.

Fortunately it's not that kind of Speedo.

The Lorus is out. I noticed it was 7 or 8 minutes off last night, set it, and this morning it is off by 3 minutes.

I guess that's why no one covets 20+ year old Lorus'.

I guess I will take the SD. I wasn't worried about losing it so much a getting sand and stuff in the bracelet, which was an issue last time. Maybe I wear the NATO.

There's your solution. I've worn my Sub to Cabo twice in the last two months, and the NATO is the way to go.

1. No worries about getting sand/salt in the bracelet causing premature wear.
2. Nearly impossible to lose it in the ocean, as both spring bars would have to fail for it to fall (on the Oyster, the loss of any one of 15 pins and it's bye bye SD).
3. Sub/SD looks less "Rolex" on the NATO--good consideration when visiting the third world (or Baltimore).

SD all the way ... doesn't matter if you're diving or not. Seeing the SD at the beach has its own pleasure, in my view. Plus, you get then the HUGE tan line to be proud of.

Enjoy the beach!

Sea Dweller on a bracelet, easy question!

Just rinse it off like the booklet recommends, hey, that's what it was made for, enjoy that beauty!
