What was The Best Band You Ever Seen

What was the best band/gig you ever seen?
My favourites in no particular order.
Queen during their "Kind of Magic" tour at Maine Road Manchester in 1986 with support from Quo.

The loudest was AC/DC on the Highway to Hell tour in 1979 at Manchester Apollo. They were supported by a young Def Leppard who were also very good and showed some promise.

The Who" at the Albert Hall.

Pink Floyd" at Earls Court they were brilliant.

Deep Purple" at Birmingham town hall.

For me there is only one concert that gets me going, that is Jimmy Buffet. I have seen him 6 different times and enjoyed every one of them. He can really pu on a great show!!

Although this Saturday I am taking Dylan to the Wiggles so maybe they will become my favorite.

Talking about older concerts, I saw Rush in high school and they were great! One of my favourite bands. I've seen some smaller shows (Jazz bands mainly) that were very good. Back to the heavier music though, I've seen Our Lady Peace and Garbage live - both were excellent! Many more concerts there, but those were the best.

That I can remember? LOLOLOL

Stoned: Pink Floyd, Delicate Sound of Thunder tour. It was soooo freaking good, and I was soooooo freaking high. Coincidence?

Sober: A tie; Einsturzende Neubauten at DV8 and the Bauhaus reunion at The Warfield (both in San Francisco). I went because Bauhaus had been a favorite band of mine for years, and I expected a high kitsch factor in their reunion. What I didn't expect was a *mind blowing* performance by an unbelievably tight band playing all my favorite songs with a perfect mixture of self deprication and goth sobriety. Exceptional.

Depends on your age, I think...

Try seeing Skinny Puppy (brutal anti-vivisection band) while so high on bad acid that you're doubled over from the strichnine in it during the whole concert. After that, you might make it to a few shows sober. Here's lead singer Nivek Ogre doing his thing...

I say "you" because it didn't work for me, only realizing that I don't want my son to be an alkie doper was enough to finally get me to stop.

I'm with Avalon... Rush gets the award every time.

I did see Sarah McLaughlin at U of T's Convocation Hall at the start of the 'Fumbling Toward Extasy' tour, about 10 years ago and had front row centre seats... that was unbelievably good.

Sarah is great live. I saw her a couple of times before she became "too big" for the local venue. There is a new arena in the area that has been attracting some bigger names, so maybe she will come back.........

I would see her again in a heartbeat!

Yeah she's amazing! I've seen her perhaps a dozen times over the years, from the Danforth Music Hall to the Molson Mistake-by-the-Lake Amphibeoustheatre. The Con Hall show was about three months before she got mainstream US airplay (I've been a fan since she was an indie artist) and the seats and the venue were soooooo intimate. Did I mention Sarah is on my celebrity top five list?
