1680 Red with spotting ?

I'm guessing spotting on the lume marker plots is an undesirable look & negatively effects the value of a watch or is it the opposite ? & once it starts does it mean it's only gonna get worse over time & what do you think of this Red Sub thanks .

Sub dial looks great, You gotta remember these dials were painted over the white lettering. So seeing spot its normal. I think the watch looks amazing. The case is easy to tell someone re chamfered the lugs.

I think he's talking, not about the lettering, but about the dark spots on the markers (plots). And I'd say that, having had a few watches w blemished markers, if it bothers or concerns or just nags at you from the start, there's a strong possibility you'll never get past them. I had a GMT w. screwed-up 12 o'clock marker and two years in I never got over how much it bugged me. Finally sold it and couldn't be happier.

Super common, and a non-issue in my book, at least at this minor level. It would never really bother me. Just part of the aging/patina on the dial.

I had a couple of similar marks on the tritium of my 1680, and I noticed that the more I wore it, especially in the sun, that the marks seemed to diminish a little. You hear about tritium patina lightening in the sun, so I assume this was part of the process.
