GMT Master 1675 Mark II Replaced Hands Value

Hi everyone!

I am interested in purchasing a GMT master 1675 Mark II dated 1971. Everything is original, box and papers included except the hands have been replaced by rolex.

Does anyone know if this is a big problem? Or are replaced hands acceptable? By how much should the value drop?

More of an issue with patina consistency, if they don't match the dial it will impact the value. If the hands that were replaced were Luminova they will never match the plots on your MKII... A mismatch would drive me nuts and I would try to find a match, which takes time, patience and $$...

As stated above, pics are a must, plus you'll get an overall take on the piece...

Original matching hands, if found, could be several hundred..
or you could have them color matched..

Also what many fail to realize is that the REAL minute hand for a GMT master is a longer hand than a submariner. A LOT of GMT's are running around with Submariner minute hands....a lot...

Real GMT minute hands are extremely hard to come by.

That's very interesting, did not know, thanks for sharing! I will pay attention to the length of the minute hand from now on to see if I can spot the difference.
