For sale is an excellent condition Rolex Explorer 2, U serial circa 1998. The 16570 features an 40mm stainless steel oyster case with a brushed stainless steel 24 hour GMT bezel, and is mounted on an oyster bracelet with safety clasp. This Explorer 2 features a black dial with polished steel hands and a red GMT hand that are all luminous coated as well as white luminous hour markers and the date display at 3 o’ clock magnified by the signature Rolex cyclops. For the movement the 16570 uses the Rolex caliber 3185 that was introduced in 1988 that was also used in the GMT Master 2 until 2008 when the ceramic bezel models were unveiled. The 3185 is a very rugged and durable movement with 50 hours power reserve; the complications include time with sweep seconds, GMT and date . The Explorer 2 is most famous for being worn by Steve McQueen in the early 70s when the watch was first unveiled. The bracelet has 11 full-sized links.
