Age of random serial Rolex

Is there any way to confirm the age of random serial Rolexes? I have two random serial Rolexes which ages I would like to confirm. There must be some kind of serial# database, but what kind of wizzard you need to be to have access there =D

No there isn't.

The closest you can get is the sales date on the card, (if you have it).

There has never been a 100% way to date when any Rolex was made since the letter serials started in 1987,only by the many charts on the net a approx date between X&Y years when the case or clasp was stamped. And because Rolex had sold countless millions of watches over those years they just ran out of single letter 6 number combinations. From the latter part of 2010 the random serials were started mixture letters numbers but now 8 digits that will last now for 50 years or more so all you have now is the warranty card or bill of sale when it was sold..

The NERDY KIND Sir Impress your fellow WIS by referring to the random serial as
" Pseudo Randomly Assigned Alphanumeric Identifier !"

A little longer perhaps,Sir.10 numerals and 26 letters in the alphabet in each and every 8 combinations will give you a total of 2 821 109 907 456 possiblities. Lets assume Rolex produces 800 000 watches annually, so theorectically speaking, the random serial will run until the year 3 528 398 AD !

I'll put it in another way Sir.It's the timeline of human evolution from Lucy, the most famous Australopethicus afarensis to Scarlet Johannson, the sexy Homo Sapien actress

Long enough to cater for the Aussie sport-model waiting list, you reckon?

Random is random, there's no way to tell when it was made. And that right there is the reason Rolex introduced random serials - to add to the power and mystique of a Rolex - it doesn't matter when it was made - it's a Rolex.
That's my take anyway.

I thought we just agreed that random can't be serial?

And anyway, Peter was pretty close.

One more time.

A random number can not be a serial number.

Are those pix in the correct order?

Ah Hah ! I knew the "Elders" will be out to get me with all guns blazing but I came prepared. Read my 1st paragraph once again.
I specifically said " Pseudo -Randomly Assigned Alphanumeric Identifier ! "

Random cannot be serial of course but Pseudo-Random is perfectly acceptable Sir

Yeah I had some technical issues with the photos. Should have flipped the photos 180° for a mirror image

Then you stated that the random serial number will run until the year 3...............?

That was my point. Ms Fox.

No 'guns' blazing'.

We are are all now looking up to you for accurate information not contradictions.

I would accept alphanumeric identification.

Megan.

I bet that Rolex sellers keeps book of every serial# they sell and inputs sale dates into some database. The question is that who has access into that database =D
