SD43 availability

One month ago when I visited my AD I was informed that SD43 is available but price is USD 12,300 (USD 1000 more than MSRP) and i would have to buy in addition full gold Rolex model. I said "thank you very much"

Today me and my family were in shopping mall and even did not go to Rolex AD but we met one of Rolex representatives in a mall. He immediately recognised me and said that rules have changed: I can buy SD43 without buying another PM watch. I still said "thank you very much".

I suspect that few more months and most ADs will be flooded with SD43 and it will be possible to buy this watch even with discount from MSRP.

They are becoming readily available however it would probably take a year or so in Asia for the market to stabilize. We will just have to see if they are being consistently shipped monthly or this is just a quick blitz before the tap gets turned down again.

I wonder if Rolex has a strategy to bomb the market initially with them in order to increase the exposure to the market for the model.
This may help to raise the profile of the watch as a model in its own right and increase sales for what has traditionally been a fairly poor seller

Most places still have a healthy list from my research between Portland, Seattle and Las Vegas. Anywhere from #2 to #15.

Rolex Barcelona had approximately 9 months waiting list for the SD43 when I checked a few days ago. In two months they had received 3 SD43:s.
